Effective Date: April 9, 2026
Jurat AI Inc. ("Jurat AI," "we," "us," or "our") is a British Columbia corporation that operates the JuratAI platform at jurat.ai (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and your rights under applicable Canadian privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, S.C. 2000, c. 5 (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, S.B.C. 2003, c. 63 (PIPA).
We collect the following categories of personal information:
Account Information. When you create a JuratAI account, we collect your name and email address. If you later subscribe to a paid plan, we will collect billing information through a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number or payment credentials on our servers.
Usage Metadata. We collect basic metadata about your use of the Service, including timestamps, query counts, and session identifiers. This information is used for billing and error tracking. We do not retain the content of your research queries or any documents you upload to the Service.
Error and Diagnostic Data. We collect limited technical data when errors occur, including error codes, timestamps, and general request parameters. This data is used solely to identify and resolve technical issues and improve the reliability of the Service. It does not include the substance of your queries.
Communications. If you contact us by email or through our website, we retain the content of those communications to respond to your inquiry.
We do not retain the text of your research queries, the content of any documents you upload, or the research output generated by the Service. No individual — including Jurat AI staff, your employer, your colleagues, or any other third party — has access to the substance of your research activity.
We do not use your queries or documents to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning model.
We do not use cookies, web beacons, or any analytics or tracking technologies on our website.
We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:
We use third-party service providers to operate the Service. These providers may process personal information on our behalf, as described below.
AI Model Providers. The Service uses large language models provided by Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini) to generate research results. When you submit a query, the text of your query is transmitted to one or both of these providers for processing. These providers are based in the United States, and your query data is processed on servers located outside of Canada. We do not send your name, email, or account information to these providers.
We access these providers through their commercial API services. Under their respective commercial API terms, Anthropic does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models, and retains API data for no more than 7 days before automatic deletion. Google's paid Gemini API services similarly do not use prompts or responses to train its models. Both providers may retain data for limited periods for abuse monitoring and safety purposes. We review the data handling practices of our AI model providers on an ongoing basis.
Infrastructure. Our Service is delivered through Cloudflare's global network, which may process request data on servers located outside of Canada.
Payment Processing. When a payment processor is integrated into the Service, your billing information will be collected and processed by that third-party provider. This Privacy Policy will be updated at that time to identify the provider and its data handling practices.
In order to provide the Service, some personal information is transferred to and processed outside of Canada. Specifically:
We do not transfer your name, email address, or account information to our AI model providers. Only the content of your query — which we do not associate with your identity — is transmitted for processing.
Jurat AI remains accountable for the protection of your personal information regardless of where it is processed. We use contractual and technical measures to ensure that our service providers maintain a comparable level of protection for your personal information. However, personal information processed outside of Canada may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed, including laws that may permit access by foreign courts, law enforcement, or national security authorities.
We retain your account information (name and email) for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Usage metadata and error data are retained only as long as necessary for billing and diagnostic purposes.
We never receive or retain the content of your queries or uploaded documents.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These measures include encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Under PIPEDA and PIPA, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address listed below. We will respond to your request within the timeframes required by applicable law.
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website prior to the change becoming effective. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
